Today started with a delicious breakfast. I also had some research to do after school as part of my summer camp, so I figured I’d be there late and the cafeteria food might not be enough to keep me full. And sure enough, it wasn’t! There was only some fried rice that tasted pretty plain and normal — honestly, everything was kind of bland. Good thing I’d packed my own lunch, which was delicious and saved the day.
Later, my mom brought me Shake Shack, which was so yummy — I liked it a lot. It really hit the spot after all that plain cafeteria food.
After that, instead of heading home, we actually went to the hospital, because my brother had a wart on his hand that had gotten hurt twice. He has a habit of picking up random things off the ground when he’s not supposed to, and that’s part of how it happened. Warts are actually caused by a virus called HPV, which can get into your skin more easily when you touch germy surfaces or have a tiny cut — so it’s always a good idea not to touch or pick up things when you don’t know what they are. The tricky part is that my brother kept picking at his wart, and picking at a wart can make it spread or get infected, which is exactly what happened — it got infected not once, but twice. That’s why we had to rush to the hospital.
But when we got there, the doctors couldn’t even see him because they were completely full. And right in the middle of it all, my brother just… farted! It was pretty funny, honestly. So instead of seeing a doctor, we asked to buy some medicine for it. Even the medicine kept falling off his finger, like it just didn’t want to stay on — or at least that’s how it felt to me.
After all that, we finally went home, and everybody was happy. We had a delicious dinner made by my mom, and afterward I read some books before heading to sleep. Even with the hospital detour, it turned out to be a pretty good day.
今天从一顿美味的早餐开始。放学后我还有一个夏令营安排的**研究项目（research）**要做，所以我估计会待到很晚，食堂的饭可能不够我吃饱。果不其然，还真不够！那儿只有点味道特别普通、寡淡的炒饭——说实话，什么都淡淡的没滋没味。还好我自己带了午餐，特别好吃，可算解了围。
后来，我妈给我带了 Shake Shack（汉堡），太好吃了——我超喜欢。在吃了那么多寡淡的食堂饭之后，这一顿真是解馋极了。
之后，我们没有直接回家，而是去了医院，因为我弟弟手上长了个疣（wart），还被弄伤了两次。他有个习惯，总爱去捡地上一些不该捡的乱七八糟的东西，这也是原因之一。其实，疣是由一种叫 **HPV（人乳头瘤病毒）**的病毒引起的——当你碰到带细菌的表面、或者皮肤上有小伤口的时候，病毒就更容易钻进皮肤里，所以不知道是什么东西时最好别去碰、别去捡。麻烦的是，我弟弟老去抠他那个疣，而抠疣会让它扩散、或者感染，结果正是如此——它不是感染了一次，而是两次。这就是我们为什么得急着往医院赶。
可等我们到了那儿，医生却根本没法给他看，因为医院全满了。而就在这当口，我弟弟……居然放了个屁！说实话还挺好笑的。于是，我们没能看上医生，就问着买了点药。可就连那药也老是从他手指上掉下来，好像它就是不愿意待在上面似的——至少在我看来是这样。
折腾完这一切，我们终于回了家，每个人都挺开心的。我们吃了我妈做的美味晚餐，之后我看了会儿书，就去睡觉了。尽管中间插了趟医院，今天到头来还是挺不错的一天。
