Building a Robotic Finger 做一只机械手指

Today at the Urban Workshop, we started off the morning by playing some dominoes, which was a fun way to warm up. After that, we got to work on our real project: designing a frame for a 3D-printed robotic finger. Once we finished the design, we built it and even installed a little motor inside to make it move. The only thing left was the coating, but we ran out of time before we could add it — so I’ll finish it another day. It’s so cool to build something that can actually move on its own!

By then I was really hungry, so we went to In-N-Out. My brother was fast asleep in the car the whole way there — he was totally knocked out. Since he was still sleeping, I ended up eating half of his burger, and my mom ate the other half plus all the fries. When we got there, my brother woke up just in time, but by then he only got to eat half a burger. Oops!

After that, we didn’t actually go straight home — instead, we went to Sky Zone to play. Things got pretty wild during dodgeball: my brother got hit right in the face with a ball, and then it happened a second time! Some people were laughing, so I stood up for him and threw the ball right back at them. Later, my brother left to go find Mom for a bit, and then came back to keep playing.

When I got back, I watched a show about a guy trying to survive solo on a deserted island. My brother kept asking, “What is this? What is that?” so I carefully explained each thing to him — I actually liked being the one who knew all the answers. After all of that, we had a really good day, and honestly, I wouldn’t change a single thing about it.
