Today at the Urban Workshop, I got to make a toolbox! At first, they just handed us a big pile of wood, and we were all like, “Wait… what are we supposed to do with this?” Then the teacher told us that we’d be building our own toolboxes from scratch — so we got right to work.
First, we sawed the wooden pieces down to size, cutting some into 6-inch lengths and others into 4-inch lengths. It took a steady hand to get them just right. After that, we moved on to cutting the aluminum sticks, which honestly looked super sick — I thought they were really cool.
By the time we finished cutting everything, it was almost time to go home. The day flew by so fast that I could hardly believe it! We didn’t get to finish the whole toolbox today, but I made some good progress. After all of that, we headed home, and I can’t wait to keep building it next time.
