Planning My Yellowstone Trip

Today turned out to be a pretty funny day, with a little bit of everything. First, we drove for a long time, and by the time we stopped, I was starving. Luckily, we pulled into In-N-Out, where I got a burger and some fries, and we grabbed some milk too. That meal really hit the spot after such a long drive.

After that, we went to the most boring place ever — the SSA (Social Security Administration) — where we had to wait for about an hour. It was so, so boring. There was nothing for me to watch or do, so I just had to sit there the whole time, twiddling my thumbs. By the time we finally left and headed home, I was more than ready to do something fun.

So once I got home, I decided to start planning a trip to Yellowstone National Park. I used my Kindle to do it — I switched on the note-taking mode and used my pen to write everything down right on the screen. First, I jotted down that we’d need to pack, then spend a few days exploring, and finally pack up again to head back home.

The trickiest part was figuring out the budget. At first I wasn’t sure — was it a thousand dollars? Ten thousand? Ten million?! After going back and forth, I finally settled on around $10,000, and we’re planning for it to be a seven-day trip. It felt really cool to plan a whole adventure all by myself, and now I can’t wait to actually go!
